Konoplyanka only wants to join a Premier League side

Sevilla have been dealt a massive blow after Konoplyanka has claimed that he only wants to move to a Premier League side, despite many reports claiming the winger was more or else confirmed to play in La Liga next season.

The AS say there was supposed to be a meeting with the representatives of the player and Sevilla, however after the statement Konoplyanka made in an interview with Futbol 1, it’s very unlikely he’ll be playing for the Spanish side.

My priority is to play in England. That’s where I want to continue my career and I will achieve Clubs perhaps meet with the Dnipro, but I can only say what I do. – Konoplyanka

He also later on claimed there were ‘many lies’ online, and saying to not read into these reports. Before the Europa League final, he also said he was sorry that he did not join Liverpool.

“I am sorry I didn’t join Liverpool when they wanted me but this Europa League final will help me get over that!” – Konoplyanka (Sportske Novosti)

Konoplyanka has been linked with Liverpool for the past year and a half, and was inches away from joining the club in January 2014 before his proposed move fell through. Everything was reportedly done, however Dnipro’s owner, apparently, refused to sign the papers. Could we finally see him in a Red shirt?

Personally, I really want him. He’s an excellent player and had a superb 2013/2014 season, scoring a total of 13 goals and assisting 9. The forward can play wide on the left or up front.

Stoke and Tottenham have also been linked with the 25-year-old.

Of whose shame will it be,if a player of such quality and talent is not sign by LFC,even when he has shown a desire and interest for LFC? I think the very big shame will be on the club’s recruitment team & the scout. If not why the intentional blindness from the Lfc R/team on the player? May be they want a last hour approach which has never favoured us at all during transfer windows. They want to tell the fans they tried but it couldn’t work, even when there was enought time to get things/deals done.I see
