LFC Loan Watch: (7/12 – 14/12)

LFC Loan Watch

Rafa Paez – The 20 year old Spanish youngster was left on the bench yet again by Bologna manager Lopez in their 2-2 draw against Frosinone. He has barely played one full game since his return from an abdominal injury.

Divock Origi – The 20 year old Belgian international had three games in the week. Against Lens, he unfortunately couldn’t keep up his encouraging form he displayed against PSG, drawing criticism from French journalist Andrew Gibney. Though some fans thought he tried to make things happen but could have done better by being less selfish. Lille drew 1-1.

In the Europa League, 5 days later, everything went downhill. Origi not only played poor, but missed a golden opportunity from the spot kick as his effort was saved by Wolfsburg keeper, Benaglio. He was booed at the end of the game by the Lille fans after going 923 mins without a goal. Wolfsburg won 3-0.

However last night, he turned it around. Origi played superbly, creating chances and testing Toulouse keeper, Ahmada. At the start of the game, he won a penalty which resulted in the expulsion of Toulouse defender Spano.

But his teammate Gueye couldn’t convert the penalty. Later on the game, he gave an assist to Noulan Roux with a first time pass moments after he missed a good one on one chance.
Lille won 3-0.

Tiago Ilori was left out of the match day squad for Bordeaux against Nantes. He is expected to feature for Bordeaux B team against Lille B this Wednesday.

Joao Teixeira played the whole game for Brighton against Millwall. He played really well, creating chances and testing the GK at times. He was rated 7.5 by WhoScored.com and drawed praise from Aston Villa youngster Jack Grealish. He was one of the minor positives for Brighton fans, with their Hyypia out campaign gaining game by game. Millwall won 1-0.

Jordon Ibe came off the bench at HT for Derby against M’Boro. His impact was subdued with no shots. His performance was poor, along with the whole Derby team. Middlesbrough won 2-0.

Oussama Assaidi remained on the bench for Stoke City in their 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace. Potters fans aren’t happy with his form and many want the loan deal to be cut short.

Luis Alberto’s Malaga had two games in the week. Against Depotivo La Coruna, he remained on the bench after assisting a goal against the same team in the previous game (Copa del Rey). Malaga won 1-0. Against Celta Vigo, he was made to be on the bench yet again by Javi Garcia, Malaga won 1-0.

Iago Aspas had a quiet week after he remained on the bench for Sevilla’s La Liga clash against Rayo Vallaceno (1-0 Win) and their Europa League decider against Rijeka (1-0 win). He was out of the match day squad for Sevilla against Eibar, where they drew 0-0. Not a week one would expect after scoring an amazing 4 minute hat trick.

Sebastian Coates remained on the bench for Sunderland against West Ham, where they drew 1-1. Personally I can’t see him getting much game time unless someone gets injured or Poyet gives him a chance in Cup matches.

Finally but not the least, Andre Wisdom delivered a master class in West Brom’s 1-0 win against Aston Villa. He had 5 interceptions, created 2 chances and was involved in West Brom’s winner. He was rated 9.5 by Squawka and was many pundit’s MOTM. It was his best game in the Baggies shirt. His heat map was clearly impressive. Long may this form continue.
