Liverpool have ‘begun negotiations’ for Lacazette

According to French outlet Foot Mercato, Alexandre Lacazette is a prime target for Liverpool. After Luis Suarez left last summer, and Daniel Sturridge injured for a number of months, it was clear that Liverpool needed another striker with summer signings Balotelli and Lambert not doing their jobs.

Le 10 Sport also reported today that Liverpool have begun negotiations with OL to sign the striker, however the Chairman of French football club Olympique Lyonnais, has said that Lacazette is worth at least £71m (This was relating to the PSG interest).

The Lyon striker has scored 27 goals this season, six more than the second highest goal scorer in the league and eight more than the ‘legendary’ Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Only Messi and Ronaldo has scored more goals than him (In the top five leagues). A very impressive feat for the 24 year old. He also clocked up six assists.

With Lyon securing second place, which means they will be in the Champions League next season, it’s going to be even harder to sign Lacazette.

The Reds will have to beat off competition from other Premier League clubs, such as Manchester City and Arsenal, as well as Paris Saint-Germain for him.

If Liverpool managed to get him, boy what a day that would be. With Balotelli scoring hardly any, Borini not doing much, Lambert slowly getting into the penalty box and Sturridge getting injured every month. He would be the perfect fit.

Question is, how much would you pay for him?
