Liverpool have met Vietto’s Release Clause

Spanish outlet AS have reported that Liverpool and Arsenal have put in 20 million euros for Argentine striker Luciano Vietto. This triggers the Villarreal Striker’s release clause. AS also say that it’s Vietto’s choice, wether to choose Arsenal, Atletico or Liverpool.

The number seven, who is only 21 years old, has scored 12 goals in La Liga this season, and 6 in the UEFA Europa League. Only four other players have scored more goals than him in the Europa League, an impressive achievement for a player of his age.

Recently the striker has ‘told’ Atletico Madrid to sign him, talking to Radio Villarreal. Revealing that he does indeed have a buyout clause. His likely destination is Atletico, however with the English clubs also interested, it could be a tough decision for theArgentine.

Liverpool have been heavily linked with Aston Villa forward Benteke, but with Chelsea and Manchester United also aiming to sign the Belgian, this could be a ‘back up’ option for Liverpool. However, I personally prefer Vietto.

Should more effort be made to get this sort of player? I definitley think so. A player with his calibre, and somebody who doesn’t get injured every month like Sturridge, it’s a striker we need.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are also reportedly to be keen on the striker.
