As the summer transfer window officially opens on Wednesday, Liverpool is looking to make some exciting signings. The Benteke saga continues! Brendan Rodgers, desperately trying to bring in another striker, remains keen on signing Benteke. Liverpool’s second target, Carlos Bacca, is no longer an option; therefore the reds must act fast. Liverpool was not prepared to reach Aston Villa’s desired price for Benteke, which resulted in a roadblock. Nevertheless, the reds have made the deal more appealing for Villa by offering two players. Rather than paying 32.5 million pounds, Liverpool has added Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini to the deal. Rodgers remains hopeful that adding Borini and Lambert will be enough to secure the Aston Villa striker. Talks between Sherwood and Benteke are rumored to be held on Wednesday, where Benteke will ask to leave the club.

With Raheem Sterling soon out of the picture, Liverpool will be looking to replace him. Manager, Brendan Rodgers, has turned his attention to Barcelona’s attacker, Pedro! Though Pedro recently extended his contract at Barcelona, it is known that his situation at the club is delicate and will therefore look at other options. Italian Side, Inter Milan is looking at the player as well, but Liverpool look like the favorites to sign the Spaniard. The clubs have not agreed on a fee, nor has Liverpool made a bid, however, rumors of the move have been intensifying.

The never-ending, bitter rivalry between Liverpool and Manchester United might prove problematic during this particular transfer. United player, and Mexican international, Javier Hernandez, otherwise known as Chicharito, has apparently caught the eye of Brendan Rodgers. Spanish publication, AS, are convinced that Liverpool will make a bid for the Mexican striker. Hernandez, who spent last season on loan with Real Madrid, could prove beneficial for Liverpool. The player would guarantee stellar goals, and big-game mentality. For Chicharito, the move to Anfield would allow him a chance to come off the bench, as his opportunity for playing time at United seems bleak. Since the two clubs have barely done business in the past, this would certainly be a shocking transfer.

Yet another striker is set to be linked with Liverpool Football Club. Manchester City’s Stevan Jovetic is wanted by Brendan Rodgers. After failing to impress Manchester City’s officials after two seasons, the club is eager to make the transfer. Liverpool is keen to sign the player for a rumored sixteen million pounds, making Jovetic fifteen million pounds cheaper than Benteke. The fourth choice striker at the Etihad can make a real impact at Anfield.

So far Liverpool have kept busy making six significant signings, yet business is not over. Soon, one of these players may become Liverpool’s seventh signing of the season!
