West Ham vs Manchester City: West Ham Player Ratings

Adrian: 8.
Made two crucial saves from Sergio Agüero and Yaya Toure in the Second Half. Kept us in the game massively and he’s made up for his error at Burnley last week.

Jenkinson: 7.
Attacked well and defended well, what more can I say? Jenks has excellent stamina so gets up the pitch a hundred times a match… Superb performance from the England Youth.

Collins: 8.
So many crucial interceptions that kept West Ham in the match, especially from Agüero’s shot. His pace does let him down but his overall performance shows that we don’t miss Tomkins.

Reid: 7.
He did nothing wrong all in my opinion as his heading, passing and awareness was all on point. Collins & Reid form a nice little partnership together.

Cresswell: 8.
Superb assist for Sakho’s header and he did that all game, he wasn’t afraid to bomb past Zabaleta & Navas. Very quick, athletic and a good crosser of the ball. Excellent signing.

Noble: 6.
Not an outstanding performance but he did the job that was needed to be done. Song & Noble knocked the ball about very comfortably against the Champions.

Song: 9.
Other than his disciplinary, I have nothing negative to say about Song’s performance. He battered Fernando off the pitch and created quite a few chances which is surprising for a CDM. Very strong, powerful & a leader.

Downing: 7.
He’s created more opportunities than any other PL player, that’s shows how far he has come this season. Should’ve scored twice but unfortunately mucked both up but that was a major blip! Proving excellent performances every week. Hodgson, are you watching?

Valencia: 8.
Good assist for Amalfitano’s goal & could’ve scored a goal himself in the first half. Played well versus a strong Kompany and Mangala. His link-up play with Sakho is good to see, something that we’ve not seen in quite a few years.

Sakho: 8.
He scores every week now and it’s good to see from the Senegalese striker. Used his pace well to beat Mangala and Kompany to the ball several times. Good header for the goal. Shame if he’s out injured now, we will miss him big time.

Amalfitano: 8.
Very skilful on the ball, has an eye for a pass and gets himself in good areas to score as seen from yesterday. Unlucky not to get a full 90 mins but nevertheless, he was superb & he’s an underrated player in our squad.
SUBS:
C Cole: 6.
Didn’t hold up the ball well and didn’t run Mangala and Kompany done. He could’ve made the last 10 minutes more comfortable had he done so.

Nolan: 5.
Too late to have a say on the game/result. Nothing else to say on Kevin Nolan’s performance.
