The past day, rumours have suggested that Arbeloa will leave Real Madrid. With the Express claiming he will reject Chelsea and Arsenal to sign for Liverpool. Alvaro Arbeloa came to Liverpool on a £2.6m deal from Deportivo La Corruna in the 2007 January Transfer Window. He went on to make 98 appearances for Liverpool, before moving back to his old club, Real Madrid.
The right back hasn’t had the best of times at Real recently, with Dani Carvajal looking like he is Carlo Ancelotti’s first choice right back. He’s made four league starts, and is of course not happy with that.
Glen Johnson is set to leave Liverpool, and when he goes, Liverpool won’t have a good experienced fullback – Arbeloa has won a Champions League trophy to a League trophy, he definitely has the experience.
However Spanish journalist, Guillem Balague, has told Bleacher Report that it is unlikely Arbeloa will return to Liverpool again this season.
Meanwhile in other news, Martin Skrtel is set to sign a new contract according to various reports. The defender has played a crucial part for Liverpool in the past seven years, making a total of 270 appearances for the Reds.
The Express have also reported that Liverpool may sell Italian striker, Mario Balotell, to fund a double move for Napoli’s Higuain and Sampdoria keeper Sergio Romero.
