I managed to interview Red Star Belgrade player, who’s currently on loan with Aberdeen, Josh Parker.
He’s scored four goals for the Serbian side. He’s had experience in English football, making his professional debut for Queens Park Rangers. He’s also played 20 times, scoring 3 goals for his country. We talked about new Liverpool player Marko Grujic, who was officially announced today as a Red.
Q) So first of all, how would you describe him as a player?
Josh: Grujic is very professional, dedicated. He’s one of the nicest people I have ever met and I feel very privileged to call him a friend as well as my work colleague. His best abilities is honestly, everything. It may sound like an exaggeration but he has everything. He’s tall, has great vision, so skilful and graceful for someone so big and he also has a change of pace as well as stamina. He’s like your Pogba/ Pastore kind of player.
Q) So I take it you’ve played against him in training, has he scored any wonder goals yet?!
Josh: Yes! We have played with and against each other many times. Marko scores wonder goals all the time, but no-one reacts because they expect it from him so everyone just laughs. Then later on we will talk about it after training.
Q) You say he’s dedicated, is football always the number one thing for him?
Josh: Football is everything to him. Big moves or big games don’t phase him because he’s quietly the most confident person I’ve met but he never hesitates to praise others either.
Q) That’s brilliant. You’ve played in England before of course. Do you think he’ll adapt quickly to the Premier League, and Klopp’s pressing style?
Josh: Yes, he could play in any team, in any league even at the age of 19. He never needs to adapt because he has that many sides to his game, he dictates the speed tempo accordingly to how he needs.
Q) I know you’ve said Pogba already. But if you had to compare him to one player, and why?
Josh: He is basically a white Paul Pogba, because of his build and his ability to control games. He will be one of the best midfielders in the world one day without a doubt.
Big thanks to Josh for taking his own time for this interview, we hope the best of luck for the season! Pleasure speaking with you.
