Liverpool U18s defender Conor Masterson captained the Republic of Ireland U19s to victory in this week’s international break. The youngster, 17, was named U16 international player of the year in 2015, and helped his side to a 1-0 victory over Austria.
His Liverpool and Ireland team-mate Caoimhin Kelleher also featured and helped keep a clean sheet for his side with a couple of vital saves as they came out on top in this international friendly.
Ben Woodburn’s phenomenal season continued when he started for Wales, but the forward could not continue his domestic form for his country as Wales U19s lost 2-1 at home to Iceland under the watchful eye of Chris Coleman.
Harry Wilson also suffered a defeat for Wales this week as their U21s lost 4-0 to Denmark at Wrexham’s Racecourse Ground.

Wilson did create the best chance of the match for the hosts, but his cross was headed over by Wes Burns. The pair created chances for their side throughout the 90 minutes but both were ineffective.
Wilson’s U23 team-mate Trent Alexander-Arnold started at full-back for England U19s as they beat the Netherlands on penalties after the game finished 1-1 in normal time. The full-back created one chance in his more natural position and was one of three players to play all 90 minutes.
He then came on as a 75th minute substitute in the U19s’ narrow 1-0 defeat to Belgium on Sunday, whilst midfielder Herbie Kane was left out of the matchday squad for both of the ties.
Finally, Allan was also involved in a game with England this week. The Brazilian midfielder, who is currently on loan at Hertha Berlin, featured for 57 minutes in the 2-1 win over the Young Lions on Sunday afternoon.
