Online newspaper and Croatian outlet Jutarnji say a deal has officially been struck between Liverpool and Inter on Friday night. The bid is at 25 million euros, which is £17.8m. There were also reports yesterday saying that there were Liverpool scouts watching the midfielder against Italy for the Euro 2016 qualifier.
The agreement also contains a potential further €2m in bonus payments for Inter, depending upon Kovacic’s progress at Anfield.
Another paper claimed earlier this month saying Inter rejected a bid of 21 million euros from Liverpool, claiming it wasn’t enough. And also saying that they want at least 25 million euros, one of the reasons for this is because of Lovren.
Again, recently Gazzetta dello Sport also reported that Liverpool have bid for Kovacic three times, with the lowest being €18m. Have they finally done it?!
Earlier today ESPN’s Ricardo Ortiz claimed “Liverpool to Inter for 25 million euros”. So with that, hopefully, done. Could we actually see a Gerrard replacement now?
The midfielder has played 41 times this season, scoring 5 goals and assisting three times. Not a great record, however he can dictate play so well. He has an 88% passing accuracy in the Serie A, which is superb. He on average plays 1.8 key passes a game, another good record.
