The Daily Mail report that Glen Johnson will turn down the chance to sign for Serie A’s Roma, and sign a new three year contract with Liverpool. I’m just dissapointed. Johnson made his first start for Liverpool (against Bolton) since the 3-0 loss against Manchester United. Liverpool have been unbeaten since. He’s made 14 appearances for the Reds, scoring one vital goal against Stoke which ended in a 1-0 win and a sore head for the Englishman.
There have been various rumours reporting that Johnson would leave on a free, with his contract expiring in a few months. With AC Milan, Roma and Inter all being linked. However in a recent press conference with Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers, he said he wants to keep the likes of Lucas Leiva and Glen Johnson.
“Glen is not the marauding full-back of six or seven years ago but he is still a quality player and he has a lot to offer with his experience. His game will adapt over the next couple of years and we want to keep him.”

The Daily Mail also report that Johnson spoke with Brendan and he has been convinced he can continue his career at Anfield. I think us Liverpool fans need to be convinced he has what it takes to stay at Liverpool.
Another rumour which came through was that Sterling rejected Liverpool’s second offer, with the Mirror claiming that the winger wants more than £100,000 a week. Raheem Sterling, for me, has been by far Liverpool’s best player this season. Scoring four goals and assisting five times. He has the best goals + assists in the Liverpool team (9). He’s been used everywhere this season for Liverpool, from being a lone striker, to a wingback, to a number ’10’. He’s shown versatility and shown he can play well anywhere.
The CIES Football Observatory claim that Sterling is the most valuable British player, and the seventh most valuable in the world. Above the likes of Sanchez, Bale, Fabregas. Real Madrid and PSG have been linked with Raheem in the past.
Meanwhile, James Pearce from the Liverpool Echo talked to Max Saakyan from Fans Corners, claiming that Liverpool may buy a short term keeper this month.
Meanwhile in Italy, Gazzetta dello Sport claim Lucas remains high on Inter Milan’s list – alonside Motta and Diarra, however Rodgers has come out and said Liverpool want to keep the Brazilian.
The Metro claim that Liverpool are prepared to spend £63m for two strikers, Alexandre Lacazette and Karim Benzema. I think we can all accept, that won’t happen.
Meanwhile, Sportsvibe claim Liverpool are interested in Stoke’s Bojan, who came from Barcelona last year.
