Owen: Sterling is better than Ozil
“Definitely, I think so. Alexis Sanchez second goal will go down as an Ozil assist but it was all to do with Sanchez and the mistake. I think Ozil is a very good player but it’s ironic, we were talking about a crisis at Arsenal only a few months ago and they were struggling around 4th or 5th saying ‘are they going to get into the top 4?’ knocked out the Champions League, hanging on in the FA Cup. All of a sudden it looks like they are going to win the FA Cup now, looks like they are going to come 2nd in the league and it will be a decent season for Arsenal, a very good season for Arsenal. It’s amazing how the game can change in the space of a month or so.”
Owen: Rodgers deserves more time
“He is under pressure no question about it, I think he should be given more time, I really do. It was only 12 months ago when, if you go to Anfield every week, last season was the best football and the most exciting time to be a Liverpool fan in years. I know they won the Champions League and I know we won trophies before that, but that was the best team you know, the best time to be a Liverpool fan. One slip away from winning the Premier League and I think Brendan Rodgers is a very good manager and certainly deserves another year just based on that season. It has been a disappointing season you know, I’m not saying it isn’t but I do think there are so many positives as well, I don’t think they are in a worse position than when he took over so I feel he does deserve another year.”
Owen: I can’t see Newcastle getting another point
“If there were another couple of games, I know there are 5 or 6 left, but if there were 8 or 10, I would be thinking Newcastle could be going down here. I just can’t see how they are going to get a point at the moment they are playing so bad. They have a little squad, so many injuries and there is such a bad feeling amongst the place, there are protests again at the weekend and I just can’t see how they are going to get a point at the moment. I just think they might be lucky that there are only 6 games left and they might just hang on because of that. As I say, if there were 10 games left I would be worried.”
