A double from Sheyi Ojo and goals from Ryan Kent and Samed Yesil secured a great 4-0 victory for the Liverpool u21 team tonight.

A superb first half from the young Reds saw them go into the half time break 3-0 up. West Ham also had their fair share of chances in the first half. The young Hammers had 3 very good chances themselves but we finished our chances wonderfully and Ojo scored an absolutely first class goal.

The second half was understandable less entertaining with nothing much happening throughout the half. We saw u21 debuts for Cleary and O’Hanlon who came on after around 60 minutes. Conor Randall was one of the players who had to make way after picking up an injury. The very promising Daniel Trickett-Smith also made his u21 debut as he started the game and played the full 90 minutes.

In the first half Ojo and Kent were absolutely outstanding. They ran the show and the young Hammers defenders struggled to deal with their pace and movement. Cameron Brannagan also had a very tidy game in mid-field. He very rarely gets the plaudits but his passing and all round play makes the side tick. We also saw a first goal for Samed Yesil in around 18 months afters just coming back from two big injury lay-offs. The young defenders will also be pleased with a clean sheet. The likes of Mclaughlin, Lussey and Rossiter were rested for the game tonight.

Stand-out players: Kent, Ojo, Brannagan and Yesil.

Man Of The Match: Sheyi Ojo.
