Liverpool’s Pre Season – Ready?

Liverpool’s Pre Season is starting very soon, and will start of against Thai All Stars on July the 14th. A number of people have been signed, six in fact. It seems like Liverpool have learnt from last summer and are getting deals done quickly.

Unfortunately for us, we’ll have wait a little longer to see new singing Roberto Firmino playing in Red. Due to him playing in the Copa America, it’s unlikely he’ll link up with the squad during the tour (Far East and Australia). Phillipe Coutinho may also not feature. However you never know, they still could link up.

Both Emre Can and Tiago Ilori are also likely to not be involved, with Tiago still being involved and Emre getting knocked out after a 5-0 thrashing by Portugal. Most of the players are scheduled to report back at Melwood next Monday. Despite Ings being involved in the European Championships, he has said he will cut his holiday short so he starts straight away.

We also could see Sean O’Driscoll be the new assistant manager for the Reds during this pre season, with reports claiming he will be confirmed soon.

One player I’m looking forward to seeing is Joe Gomez, signed from Charlton Athletic. He turned 18 in May, and became a key player for the Charlton side. He’s also represented England in many levels. Clyne is a player I’ve been watching closely the past few seasons, and for once we haven’t overpaid for a Southampton player. James Milner will also be an interesting one, personally I don’t think he’ll be a massive player for us but I know many will disagree.

Liverpool will be travelling to Australia to play Brisbane Roar at 9:45 in the morning… In the morning (Damn time differences). Liverpool are 3/10 to win this game, so it should be a fairly safe bet.

Liverpool will also be playing another four matches before the first game of the season comes against Stoke City away. It’s going to be an interesting season, with Liverpool arguably having the toughest away fixtures – Stoke, Arsenal, Manchester United, Everton, Tottenham, Chelsea, Manchester City.
